Cronatron Welding Systems, Inc. was founded in 1977 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Lawson Products, Inc. of Des Plaines, IL, a publicly held corporation. Sidney L. Port, Vice-Chairman of the Executive Committee, founded Lawson Products in 1952.
In 2001, Cronatron Welding Systems acquired the assets of Certanium Alloys
and Research Company formerly located in Cleveland, OH.
Cronatron Welding Systems, Inc. distributes over 4,000 products including welding and brazing products for joining, buildup and surfacing, powder spray products and equipment, industrial polymers, metal removal and finishing tools and a complete line of shop supplies. These products are used for the repair and maintenance of capital equipment of all types in the industrial, heavy-duty equipment, in-plant, buildings and grounds maintenance and transportation fields.
